昼から夕方に日が当たる場所に置いていましたが、日が当たりづらくなってきたので、朝から夕方までいつも日が当たる箇所に飼育水槽を移動したところ、気に入らなかったようで甲羅干しをしないどころか餌も食わなくなりました。
そのため元の場所に戻し、なるべく日が当たるようにその場所から1メートルくらいだけ移動させました。飼育水槽から見える風景などで、今までいたところと何かが違う、ということがわかっているようです。

新しい亀の隠れ家

The turtle's new hideout is bigger than the old one and is made of a warm orange tile. The turtle used to dry its shell in the sunlight, but it stopped doing so when the tank was moved to a new location. The turtle now dries its shell on a saucer that was previously used for a potted plant.

こうして写真を撮ってみると、回廊のような雰囲気があり、自分で言うのもおかしいのですがなかなか良いものができているな、と思います。

カメというのは意外に手足が長いですね。この高さをよじ登ることができるのかと思わされることがたびたびあるので納得です。リラックスしてくれている様子で微笑ましいです。

イシガメが丸すぎる

The author is feeding their turtle as much as they can, but they are worried that it is getting too round. The turtle has surprisingly long limbs and the author is happy to see how relaxed it is. The turtle is round when viewed from above, but it is also quite thick.

なかなか愛らしい表情と動きをします。餌をあげるときに寄ってくる、という記事をインターネットで見かけましたが私のイシガメはまるで寄ってこない。
というよりかは、多少離れた場所に陣取ってこちらを見ながら、私が腕を伸ばして近くに餌を落とすのを待っています。そんなに悪い飼い主でもないと思いますが個体差かと思い直します。まあほどよい距離感かもしれません。

非常に多くの要素（最近太って脱走が面倒になったため、環境に慣れたため、子亀から成長したため、季節が変わってきたため等）が絡んでいそうなため断言はできかねますが、もし同じような状況の方がいたら一度試してみるのもいいかもしれません。
